π General Electric (GE), a prominent American multinational, is currently investigating a reported breach in its development environment.
A threat actor named IntelBroker claimed to have accessed GE's "development and software pipelines" and attempted to sell the access on a hacking forum for $500 earlier this month.
π Allegedly dissatisfied with the response, IntelBroker is now offering both network access and supposedly stolen data, including DARPA-related military information, for sale. Screenshots shared by the threat actor suggest a breach of GE Aviation's database, containing data on military projects.
π΅οΈββοΈ GE has acknowledged the situation, stating they are actively investigating the alleged data leak. A GE spokesperson assured that appropriate measures would be taken to protect system integrity.
π While the breach is yet to be confirmed, IntelBroker has a history of successful cyberattacks, including breaches of the Weee! grocery service and the D.C. Health Link program. The latter exposed sensitive personal information, leading to a congressional hearing investigating the incident.
β οΈ Stay vigilant for further updates on this developing situation as GE works to secure its systems against potential threats. Your data security is our top priority! ππ»
